Today’s mistake (acquiring agricultural lands for industries): future’s confession like Computerization, comrade (not allowing computers in WB 20 yrs ago)

It is not surprising that the CPM party are going to sell West Bengal to the foreigners. It is only possible to them because they never fought for this country that is the history. In last 28 years, this ‘kamiye-nis’ party destroyed agricultures, industries, education, cultures, morality and what not. But no, there are some spectacular achievements and for which we should appreciate them. What are these achievements?
1. Deployed ‘red-jaminders’ in each village of WB. They are actually administrating the villages and managing voting process so that this party can come into power year by year.
2. Politicized our society starting from hospital to cemetery that is every sphere of peoples life and thus destroyed work cultures and made people corrupt/‘Dhandabaj’ and so on.
3. Established contractor/middleman/Cadre raj(some of them started converting agricultural land to construction land and earned so much commission and now their Govt are trying to legalize it).
Actual Problems: City based High-Society/elite Rulers
Most of the politicians (including top commrades), administrators, and ministers of our country, came from elite society and their motto like their ancestor’s to rule the country like landlords, in name of democracy. All the parties are just like business organization’s, in which elite leaders are owners (enjoying profits but not given a single drop of blood/toil for this country) and cadres/workers are laborers (just giving their blood and toil to earn profit not to enjoy it).As they(politicians) are not the ‘man of soil’ how they will realize the actual problem of this country? How to develop villages, urban areas which consists 75% of Indian population? What’s the real need of those peoples? Without eating ‘Panta Bhat’ it is not possible to know the taste of it!! What, politicians are doing just thinking about the 25% of the Indian population, basically those are rich and elite? All those cities, industries, educational institutions, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, night clubs, dance bars are for whom? Are those for 75% lower middle class/poor peoples?
True Agricultural Scenario:
Though politicians always claim we have achieved ‘Green Revolution’ in agriculture (keeping real statistics in mind), but common man experiencing the truth day by day by their life. I have read a research paper, published in the “Economics and political weekly” back to 1994 showing the pitiable agricultural scenario of India including West Bengal? If we want to supply sufficient foods to 100% peoples of our country, will we be able to feed 50% peoples of India? As high society politicians are always bothered about 35% peoples of India, they can say we are self-sufficient in foods because those peoples(35%) are getting enough foods.
Though CPM knows that near about 65% of peoples of WB are cultivators, what they have done for them in last 28 years? Their party Secretary told in a news paper recently that “with ancient cultivation process we can’t survive in the modern era” which proofs that they have not done anything to improve agriculture’s. Yes they achieved land reforms and pachyati raj.(Just to start CPM’s Jamindari and to pieces the lands, resulted lower production rate, poor became poorer[While I was writing this letter I got news that UNDP-HD report 2005 says same thing ‘Extreme Poverty’ concentrated in WB villages]).They always claim we are self-sufficient in foods(Though in 2003-2004, for WB, FCI collected 2.2 million ton of food grains from Central Govt).
Do they know that our agricultural production rate is too low even compared to developing courtiers like Thailand and Philippines? It’s a shame to all of us after 58 years of independence.
They made WB first in so many agricultural products. How much agricultural products and processed food WB exports per year?
Agricultural Potentiality, West Bengal Has:
Though WB has much potentiality in Agricultures,CPM Govt never tried to turn WB a global supplier of agricultural products like Poultry, Diary, Meat, Fish etc. This is the knowledge gap of High-soceity rulers those are not from rural/urban area.
This Govt. never ever tried to uplift our agricultural technologies, production rate, quality of products so that we can export across the world.
Here is a recent news:-
“Recently ‘Arambagh hatcheries’ got a big contract from a Japanese company to supply chickens to Japan”.
But this Govt. never concentrated on these.
This is just an example. There are so many agricultural products we can export. But after destroying WB’s agriculture and Industry, their next turn is to ‘real estate’.
How much people will be employed in big townships, shopping malls, hospitals, hotels (so many have been built already), even in modern industries?
Here are some questions to CPM party
1. If anybody start a Diary farm or Poultry or cultivate high productive crops, will it create less jobs and less export revenues compared to the proposed concrete jungles(concrete industry!)/industries?
2. How much peoples got jobs in Haldia Petro-chemicals (Is it 5 lacs?? what they advertised at the time of last few elections).
3. Is WB become financially very stronger after making of Haldia and Bakreswar (blood revolution??)
4. Will all these industries survive after 100 years?If so where from they will get the minerals?(because today’s industries mostly dependent on petro-chemicals and other minerals directly or indirectly)
5. In future,Shall we go back to nature and will depend completely on agriculture to continue our civilization?
6. Will our future population will be increased and will we require more foods?
7. If so, would it be possible to recover all the fertile lands we are selling for concretization/industrialization after 100 years?No.
They will not able to answer because after all they have to look after their party’s interest first rather than to make WB really a prosperous state.
Agriculture is the Solution not Industry:
No, it will be difficult to all those industries to survive because our oil reserves and minerals will be finished soon and many industries directly/indirectly depend upon petro-chemicals and minerals.
In future only we have to depend upon agriculture and nature and as our population will explode, we will have to recover all fertile agricultural lands we are going to waste but we will not be able.
The only way to improve agriculture that is through co-operative.

Industry, but not Destroying Agricultures - A Solution:
Industry never be substitute of agriculture because there are some uncertainties related to it like - whether it will survive in future or not, whether it will remain profitable or not, above all how many jobs it will generate (as modern industry approaching towards automation and Robotics).But in agricultural dependent state like WB, we can take advantage of industrialization but not by allocating agricultural lands even where 1% agriculture is possible. But what present WB Govt is doing that naturally raises some questions
1. Why all concretization plans are in an around Calcutta?
2. Why Govt. is not trying to build-up complete industrial city like Duragapur using waste-lands of Purulia, Bankura and Birbhum?
3. Why there is no plan to build an industrial city in each district and connect it with Kolkata through express highways?
Here are some solutions.
1. Govt. should allocate wastelands in remote districts like Purilia, Bankura, Birbhum for creating complete township, which will consists of all modern amenities.
2. These towns will be connected with Kolkata by express highways.
3. Then wastelands, in an around those towns will be distribute for industrialization.
4. Justified amount of lands to be distributed for one industry. (We have seen some old industries taken unnecessary vast lands and still remain unutilized).
5. Today’s service industry like, IT not necessarily requires vast land, several companies can be accommodated in a very high rise building(like IT parks in ITPL, Bangalore) but they must be connected with main cities by well built roads and must have good transportation facilities etc.
6. Following the point 5. It may be possible to built high rise multistoried IT parks on both sides of Ganga river. Particularly on the East bank as there are some old warehouses, that can be removed and exiting transportation and infrastructure facilities can be utilized as well as beatification of Ganga can be done and at the same time cost would be low, so IT industry will be attracted.
7. Some old industrial towns like Asansol, Durgapore and Khorogpur have potentiality to expand and reconstruct, to facilitate industries.
8. Govt. should recover the lands of closed industries and it would be allocated only to open new industries.
9. But to do all these it is first require stopping all sorts of illegal land purchase by Promoters/political middlemen.
Future in danger:
Really future of West Bengal peoples are in danger as profit mongering promoters/developers acquiring vast fertile lands for concretization or industrialization and now Govt is going to influence them by allocating vast lands to foreign promoters.
Obviously there would be a ‘post Concretization effect’. That already we experienced in ‘Rajarhat’ and ‘Haldia’.
Here is the several news related to this effect, published in two Bengali newspapers:-

I have read in a newspaper recently that some of CPM party leaders including CM told “we have allocating lands to stop illegal land transactions”. If they know it is illegal transaction why Govt. is not taking steps against those promoters and to punish them. Real truth came out from the mouth of a CPM party leader, that ‘some of our party comrades are now into this profit mongering business’, so how Govt. will catch them!! So they decided, better to legalize it.
Then how they will concentrate on villages, to increase the rate of production of agriculture, to generate more jobs in agriculture sector!! (If they allocate vast land of 24PGS(S) for a Diary firm or poultry farm, I am sure it will generate more jobs than creating concrete jungle).
So allocation of vast lands to foreign promoters, will start a chain reaction as a result thousands and thousands acres of land will go for concretization in the future and will continue till the collapse of this Govt.

From your write up it is not clear that you r neutral but it sounds more than a CPM cadre. Because most of the information are either false or half-truth .

What ever supporter you are , you all feel angry if someone blames you for the present senario of West Bengal because you love your bengal. Everyone wants to do something good or has high morals about kolkata but nothing comes out at the end. Can't we find some other ways instead blamming each other ! The goal is a better West Bengal what we dream about.
If that is true for all of you out there , let us get back to the point.
